Our best ever fly-in! Perhaps having the large group from Guthrie Oklahoma's IMAA Sooner Squadron coming early and staying late was the reason. We had many on Thursday and a full house on Friday as well as Saturday.
Everyone got lots of air time. Tee Shirt sales plus outright donations were enough to cover the cost of the Port-A-Potties. Thanks to every one that came!
Granted, Art did not spend very much time in the air, having sold his only 2 airplanes. But he got in a lot of visiting and was very helpful with signing people up and making them feel welcome. Rhonda is going to the Nationals whether Art gets the next Nieuport built by then or not.
Brian worked hard handling the parking that Cy always did for us (yes, we miss having Cy here!). Brian also got a lot of flying done and his wife was able to join him on Sunday after getting their son off to camp.
Don Turnock, of course, was ever helpful wherever was needed.
Dale's portable flying circus repair facility was put to

use multiple times for quick fixes,
including Jimmy Stewart's case of laryngitis.

Darrell of Bunch's Quik Chek, as is his habit, provided lots of ice and trash service.
Dale and Deb's wedding on Wednesday was wonderful – we're so happy for them both. It was nice to have Don Locander give away the bride -- although we think he tried to keep her for himself.
Terry of the Omaha bunch was awarded a New Pair of Shorts from the Air Boss after the maiden flight of his bright red Fokker DR1 tri-plane. Those short noses and short coupled stack of wings can be a real handful.
Art says his `prize' guitar will be back next year to go to another lucky winner. Good Grief…..
Brian Hole won the Happy Award as we had hidden Happy in the M&M guy.
We even got the new owner of the Country Mountain Inn out to the field.
What makes this the World's Best Fly-in,
is we have the World's Best People..
       Thanks Tom & Sue

The Dawn Patrol is a group of R/C model airplane enthusiasts who share a love of World War 1 aviation and aero-modeling. They enjoy mission-oriented flying at annual "Dawn Patrol" events, as well as at smaller informal gatherings of like-minded individuals. The purpose of the group is to have fun while promoting the WW1 aero-modeling part of the R/C flying hobby.

The "Western Front Dawn Patrol" is the R/C Dawn Patrol chapter for Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and northern Missouri. In conjunction with the Arkansas Dawn Patrol, the Hoosier Dawn Patrol, and other groups, it is intended to boost interest in our little niche of the R/C hobby.
